The idea
A house that steps back so the landscape can speak, and answers it quietly, in warm materials and long, low horizons.
One glass line between the sofa and the slope.
Long, low horizons; the architecture refuses to compete.
Concrete, wood and stone — left honest, left to age.
When the glass slides away, the terrace becomes the room.
At dusk the house becomes a lantern, and stays quiet about it.
Process
A thousand square metres asks for restraint, not display. The work was in the junctions — where concrete meets wood, where inside hands the room to the slope — and in keeping every one of them silent.
Material
Concrete, wood, stone. Warmth against the mountain.
