A place I can't stop thinking about

I keep coming back to places that manage to create an entire world around you. The new Langosteria in Milan and Langosteria Paraggi do this particularly well — in completely different ways.

In Paraggi, everything seems to belong to the Riviera. The nautical references, polished wood, colours and details borrowed from classic Italian boats feel like an ode to Portofino and to that particular kind of Mediterranean elegance.

The new Langosteria in Milan speaks another language. Here, the references turn towards the city itself — its architecture, its design culture and that particular Milanese sophistication that never needs to be too obvious. Upstairs, the bar shifts again: darker, more intimate, with a character entirely of its own.

It doesn't simply sit by the sea; it seems completely shaped by it.

What fascinates me in both isn't a shared aesthetic, but the same obsessive attention to detail. Nothing feels randomly placed. Art, objects, books, lamps and furniture seem collected rather than decorated — carefully curated, almost like fragments of a journey around the world.

Maybe that is what stays with me: atmosphere doesn't come from a formula. It comes from hundreds of details that somehow make you feel exactly where you are.
